Album Hawaii

Buongiorno, care scrapper!
Se avrete la pazienza di arrivare fino in fondo a questa lunga serie di foto, vedrete un album in tema hawaiano che ho fatto alcuni mesi fa per un'amica dei tempi del liceo, una persona di quelle (rare) che se avete la fortuna di incontrare nella vita non lascerete mai più. Meritava tutti i miei sforzi.

Good morning, dear scrappers!
If you are so patient to see all the following photos, you'll see a Hawaii-themed album I made a few months ago for a friend of mine. She was my schoolmate, one of those (rare) people that - if you are so lucky to meet along your life path - you won't leave anymore. She deserved all my efforts.

Anche se i miei fiori preferiti sono le rose, adoro anche i fiori tropicali, come l'ibisco. Le decorazioni della copertina le ho fustellate con un bellissimo set della Sizzix. Ho lavorato le foglie e i fiori in modo da dare tridimensionalità. Volevo che l'album in un certo senso fosse un'esplosione della natura nelle mani della mia amica.

Even if my favourite flower is rose, I also love tropical flowers, as hibiscus. I die cut the decorations of the cover with an amazing set of Sizzix. I tried to give a 3D effect to leaves and flowers. I wanted the album to be an explosion of nature in my friend's hands.

Ho alternato pagine con stampe hawaiane a pagine decorate da me, cercando di mantenere una continuità a coppie.

Per esempio, a pagina 5 c'è un foglio con una stampa del mare e a pagina 4 ho creato io il mare, aggiungendovi le code di due balene e i gabbiani.

I tried to make couples of pages on the same theme with patterned papers and pages I myself decorated.

For example, on page 5 there is a patterned paper with a sea view, and on page 4 I tried to create the same view and added also two whale tales and some seagulls.

A pagina 6 ci sono delle assi di legno verticali. Alla pagina successiva ho embossato a freddo delle canne di bambù e le ho leggermente sfumate con un tampone verde.

On page 6 there are some vertical wood boards . On the following page I made some bamboo canes with an embossing folder and I slighlty shaded them with a green inkpad.

In questo modo la mia amica può incollare anche una foto grande senza coprire le canne di bambù.

My friend can put even a big photo without covering the bamboo canes.

Entrambe le pagine contengono molti fiori, sia la carta decorata che quella che ho fatto io.
Qui e in altre pagine vedrete una fustellata di una cornice per foto. Ho incollato solo la base e lasciato aperti gli altri lati, così dietro si può mettere facilmente una foto.

Both the patterned paper and the page I decorated contain many flowers.
Here and in other pages you can see a photo frame die cut. I glued only the base of the frame and left the other sides open, so my friend can easily put a photo behind the die cut.

Ho piegato la base con una funzione apposita di una taglierina.

I folded the base with a special function of a trimmer.

Queste farfalle le ho prima timbrate ed embossate a caldo, poi le ho colorate con i pigmenti che ho mostrato alla fine del post Album verde farfalle in volo.

I stamped and heat embossed these butterflies, then I coloured them with the same pigments I used in Flying butterflies green album. You can see them at the end of that post.

Potete vedere la dimensione del fiore comparandola con la penna.

You can understand how big the flower is if you compare it with the pen.

La carta decorata ha una specie di trama o cucitura a zig zag. Io ho aggiunto un altro tipo di tessuto, la juta.

The patterned paper has a kind of zigzag weft or faux-stitching. I added another kind of fabric, burlap.

Guardate più sotto come ho creato il salvagente.

Look below how I made the life buoy.

A sinistra una cornice di legno, al centro delle maschere di legno. Tutto fustellato nel cartoncino effetto legno che come sapete uso tantissimo.

A wood frame on the left, two wood masks in the centre. I die cut them all from the wood-like cardstock I use a lot.

Ho scelto delle mezze perle giganti che richiamano gli stessi verde e celeste pastello della pagina a sinistra.

I choose three big half pearls that have the same pastel green and light blue of the page on the left.

Un altro foglio di juta, stavolta del colore del mare.

More burlap, this time as blue as sea.

Ho usato due diversi set di fustelle di foglie tropicali. Questo è uno dei due.

I used two different set of tropical leaves dies. This is one of them.

Il salvagente. Volevo dare l'effetto della corda.

The life buoy. I wanted to make a rope-effect.

Ho distanziato i tre strati di onde e in mezzo ci ho messo le code delle balene.

I put some foam between the three strips of waves and I put the whales tales among them.

A destra vedete il set con le altre foglie tropicali e le altre fustelle che ho usato. A sinistra il grande cerchio con le foglie che ho usato all'inizio dell'album.
Il cerchio piccolo, invece, l'ho usato nella Card Spaziale che ho pubblicato pochi giorni fa.

On the right you can see the other tropical leaves and the other dies I used. On the left there is the big circles with leaves I used at the beginning of the album.
I used the small circle to make the background of the Space Card I posted a few days ago.

I am pointing at the seagulls dies.

Il set con la balena era un omaggio di una rivista inglese.

The whale stamp set was a gift inside a British cardmaking magazine.

Se avete avuto la pazienza di arrivare fino a qui vi devo veramente ringraziare, anche perché significa che l'album vi è piaciuto. Dopo tanta fatica questo mi farebbe davvero piacere!
