Mini album Sirene - Mermaids Mini album

Buongiorno a tutti,
oggi vi mostro un mini album che mi ha richiesto molto tempo, ma l'ho fatto per una delle mie nipoti, a cui voglio un bene infinito, perciò ci ho messo davvero tanta passione.
Ho caricato molte foto perché l'album è pieno di dettagli, ma abbiate pazienza e guardate il post fino alla fine. Sono sicura che l'album vi piacerà.

Hi, folks, today I show you a mini album that took me a lot of time. I made it for one of my nieces. My love for her is endless, so I made the album with great passion.
I have uploaded a lot of photos because I put many details in this craft. Be patient, please, and see the whole post. I am sure you will love this album.

Il blu, con tutte le sue sfumature, è il mio colore preferito. Sono nata in una città di mare e probabilmente in una vita precedente sono stata una creatura marina ;-)
La copertina dell'album è ricca di dettagli. Ho creato la decorazione centrale con uno stencil da sirena per torte e i cuscinetti Distress blu e viola. Ho embossato con una polvere glitterata. Ho aggiunto due piume blu, alcune microscopiche conchiglie vere e tre mezze perle - una azzurra, una bianca e una verde.
Ho aggiunto anche una decorazione a forma di occhio, naturalmente di colore blu. Dopo ve ne mostrerò un altro e vi spiegherò il suo significato. Quest'occhio può essere quello di una creatura marina, per esempio una sirena.
In alto ho aggiunto delle finte pietre preziose e delle mezze perle oro.
Infine, ho fustellato nel vellum di due tonalità di blu delle onde. Ho incollato tutti questi elementi con la colla a caldo.


Blue, and all its shades, is my favourite colour. I was born on the seaside and probably in my previous life I was a sea creature ;-)
The cover of the album is full of details. I made the decoration on the centre with a mermaid cake stencil and blue and purple Distress inkpads. I embossed it with a sparkle powder. I added two blue feathers, some real tiny shells and three pearls - blue, white and green.
I have added also a fake eye decoration. Blue, of course. Later I'll show you another eye and explain its meaning. This eye could be a sea creature's one, for exemple a mermaid's.
On one corner of the rectangle I put some gems and some golden pearls.
I die cut from two shades of blue vellum some waves. I put all these elements on the cover with hot glue gun.

Ho messo anche del filo dorato. Purtroppo dalla foto non si vede bene il luccichio della polvere da embossing.

I put also some golden twine. I'm sorry, but from the photo you can't see well the sparkling embossing powder.

Ho usato due fili metallici (uno blu e uno viola) e il filo oro per appendere alcune decorazioni.

I used two metal wires (blue and purple) and some golden twine to hang some charms.

Alla fine del post vi mostrerò nel dettaglio come ho riempito le due bottigliette.
Guardate, qui c'è l'altro occhio, stavolta di vetro. Se qualcuno di voi è mai andato in Grecia o in Turchia sa bene di cosa si tratta. È un amuleto, protegge dal malocchio. È molto comune in questi due paesi, si trova ovunque, nelle case, nei negozi, si usa per creare bigiotteria. In Turchia lo chiamano nazarlık.
Ho deciso di mettere questi due occhi sull'album sia per il colore, sia come forma di protezione simbolica per mia nipote perché viviamo lontane, ma spero che il mio amore per lei la protegga sempre.

At the end of the post I'll show you how I filled in the two tiny bottles.
Look, here's the other eye, this one made of glass. If anyone of you has ever gone to Greece or Turkey you know what is its meaning. It is an amulet, it protects from evil eye. It is very common in these countries. You can find it everywhere, in homes, shops, and they also use it to make jewelry. Turks name it nazarlık.
I decided to put these eyes on the cover because they are blue and also as a symbolic protection for her, as we live far from each other but I hope my love for her will always protect her.

Ho appeso a questi fili due bottigliette in cui ho messo tre tipi di glitter blu e alcune pepite d'oro. Ho aggiunto delle nappine, delle perle e dei minuscoli campanelli blu, oro e viola (alcuni sono anche all'interno dell'album).

I hang some tiny bottles where I put three kinds of blue glitter and some golden nuggets. I added some little tassels, some pearls and some tiny blue, golden and purple bells (some of them are also inside the album).

Forse vi chiederete perché ho tagliato le pagine se poi le ho ricomposte sulla pagina viola piegata.. Volevo semplicemente creare un album dalle dimensioni piccole, più piccole di quelle del blocco di carte decorate che ho usato, ma senza perdere parte di questi disegni meravigliosi.

Maybe you will wonder why I cut the patterned papers into two or three parts and then put them together on the purple folded page. I wanted to make a mini album, I mean smaller than the size of the patterned papers, but I didn't want to lose any detail of these great patterns.

Questa decorazione l'ho creata colorando un cartoncino bianco con due tonalità di acquerelli oro. Ultimamente li ho usati spesso. Se andate sull'etichetta "oro" nella colonna a sinistra del mio blog potete vedere cosa ho fatto in precedenza. La fustella dal design orientale l'ho usata in una serie di biglietti orientaleggianti.

I have made this decoration by colouring a white cardstock with two shades of golden watercolour. These months I have used them a lot. If you click on the label "gold" on the left column of my blog you can see what I have made before. I used this die in a bunch of Eastern design cards.

Ho fustellato questi esagoni da un avanzo della carta della prima pagina e ho sfumato i bordi con un cuscinetto oro.

I die cut these hexagons from some leftovers of the first page and shaded the edges with a golden inkpad.

Vi ricordate il vellum di due tonalità di blu che ho usato sulla copertina per fare le onde? Uno dei due l''ho usato anche per creare una pagina.

Do you remember the two shades vellum I used to make the waves on the cover? I used one of them also to make a page.

Ho nascosto la colla con cui ho fissato il vellum con quattro paillettes.

I hid the glue under the vellum with four sequins.

Per dare all'album un aspetto più "acquoso" ho creato anche una pagina trasparente con un foglio di acetato.

To give the album a watery effect I made a clear page with some acetate.

Ho usato questo set di glitter, tranne la terza bottiglia perché contiene delle farfalle.

I used this set of glitters, except the third bottle because it contains butterflies.
