Scatolina-libro e Micro album Bambole giapponesi - Japanese dolls Book-box and Tiny album

Buongiorno a tutti,

Good morning, folks,
today I show you a gift I made for a friend of mine. She is deeply keen on opera and Japan. She has a beautiful collection of Japanese kimonos and a common friend who has recently come back from a holiday in Tokyo brought a kimono to her as a gift.
I have never been to Japan, but I think their traditional dress, along with Indian sari, is the most elegant all over the world. I admire the delicacy and elegance of Japanese design.
For all these reasons I have decided to craft a small Japan-themed gift for my friend.

I have created a book-box and a tiny album with traditional images of Japan. The only pre-coloured paper I have used is the red one of the cover. I have coloured and decorated all the others, that were originally white cardstock.
To decorate the box and the album I have used both dies and stamps. I made the inlay you see on the box with a great frame die and I coloured the die cut with golden watercolour.

I made the cloud-effect with a stencil I myself made with a border die. I coloured a white cardstock with Distress inkpads and I die cut from them the branch and the flowers.
On the right you see a frame with small flowers I stamped and coloured with watercolour markers.

Here's the tiny album inside the box. I stamped on the cover these Japanese characters. I bound the pages with the Cynch.

I hid the place where I glued the ribbon with this pot I stamped it and coloured it with a red marker and golden watercolour.

Alcuni di questi timbri li ho usati nelle scatoline e segnalibri giapponesi.

I used some of these stamps to make Japanese mini boxes and bookmarks.

At the end of this post you will see the die I used to make these tiny fans.

I made these dolls too with a die.

Here's how I made the frame of the box.

These are the stamps I used for the pot and the Japanese characters.

Here's the die I used to make the dolls. In Japan they make small dolls people name kokeshi. They are usually made from wood and they have not arms. They are lucky charms and people use to give them as a gift to a special person.

To make the clouds I first made a stencil with the border dies I used for the Unicorn card.

For the Japanese sky I used a watercolour paper.

Spero che questo lavoro vi sia piaciuto!

I hope you like this craft!
