I have spent the last days working at many projects at the same time and one of them was particularly hard. But, considering the result, I think it was worth. I have already made other exploding boxes, but this project is very different from the previous ones.
I covered the lid with some drop leaves I stamped and handcut, as you will see at the end of the post. Then I covered the outside of the box with wood-like cardstock and some clips very similar to nails. I have already used this kind of cardstock in 'Back to school' card and in 'Home sweet home' door plaque, but in those crafts I used the light brown one.
Inside the box I created an autumn scenery.
A light brown and lace butterfly, so vintage and romantic, is flying on some monochromatic tiny flowers.
Some leaves drop on mushrooms I coloured with water markers.
In this page I created a carpet made of kraft roses. I used a sheet of mail packaging paper.
Here you can find the meaning of this craft. During this season it seems that nature is going to die, but it is just entering a new period. Nature, as friendship, doesn't die, it just renews itself.
The hardest part of this box was the well! This is the first time I use a stencil on a 3D shape. I covered the well with some drop leaves to make the scenery more realistic.
Oh, una foglia è caduta nell'acqua!
Oh, a leaf fell into the water!
I stamped many leaves with a set I used in 'CAS Fall carpet' card. Then I put so much patience (!!!) in handcutting them. I love these stamps because I adore warm colours of autumn and these stamps are perfect for this season.
I used a spice little pot to shape the 3D well.
Then I made the other small parts: I die-cut the leaves for the page with the well and punched the ones that fall on the mushrooms. Then I created the lace butterfly and the metal part of the well. I stamped and coloured the mushrooms, but I forgot to take the photo!
Ho creato il bordo superiore del pozzo.
I made the top of the well.
E infine il secchio.
And at the end the bucket.
Without the sentiment on friendship this garden can have another meaning and be related to a song I adore, 'Ma che freddo fa', featured by the Italian singer Nada (lyrics by Franco Migliacci, music by Claudio Mattone). I'm translating it into English to make you understand why it is related to the box.
Ma che freddo fa - It's so cold
In winter the tired sun goes and sleep early,
it can't do it anymore,
it can't do it anymore.
The night's cold hands come over me,
it's so cold,
it's so cold.
A caress would be sufficient
for a girl's heart,
maybe I would love you then.
I feel I am a butterfly that doesn't fly anymore,
doesn't fly anymore,
doesn't fly anymore.
I was burnt by your great love's fire,
that is already extinguished,
it's so cold,
it's so cold.
You, man, have disappointed me,
you have stolen from my face
a smile that won't come back anymore.
What is life without love?
It's just a tree with no more leaves.
And wind starts blowing,
a cold wind,
it blows down leaves as it blows down hope.
What is my life for if you are not with me?
I hope you like this project or at least you appreciated my (big) effort to make it!
